Danica Patrick Takes Part in “Race to Feed Carroll County”

Earlier today NASCAR driver Danica Patrick visited the Kroger store located at 2549 US Highway 227 in Carrollton, Kentucky, to take part in a “Race to Feed Carroll County.” As part of the event, Patrick joined the founder of Nature’s Bakery, Dave Marson, along with representatives from the Carroll County Food Pantry, Kroger and local government officials in a race to fill shopping carts with food from the store’s shelves.

“We race in so many different markets and I love it when we get involved on a local level,” said Patrick. “Today we had a fun race to help feed the hungry in Carroll County. To give back to the local community is an incredible thing. There are so many people with empty stomachs and hopefully the food we collected in our carts today will help fill those bellies up.”

Patrick’s sponsor, Nature's Bakery, partnered with Kroger to create this event to benefit the Carroll County Food Pantry. In addition to the items collected by the “race” participants, fans donated non-perishable food to help stock the No. 10 Nature's Bakery Chevrolet SS show car as well as a Carroll County police cruiser that was on site. All of the food collected was donated to the Carroll County Food Pantry and Kroger made a $1,000 donation to the organization.
